The Houston Astros and New York Yankees, the AL’s two top teams, are meeting in the ALCS with a trip to the 2019 World Series against the Washington Nationals up for grabs. The series is a rematch of the 2017 ALCS, which Houston won in seven games. It’s the third ALCS trip in a row for the Astros, who are looking for a second World Series title in three seasons.

The Yankees, meanwhile, are attempting to reach the Fall Classic for the first time since they won it all in 2009.

The series got underway on Saturday night at Minute Maid Park in Houston and could run through a Game 7 on Oct. 20. The full ALCS schedule, including start times and TV information, can be found below. All games airing on Fox or FS1 can be streamed with fuboTV (Try for free). The Yankees survived last night in the first elimination game of the American League Championship Series by scoring four runs in the first inning off Justin Verlander in the Bronx. The series heads back to Houston for game 6 tonight, where the Bombers hope to force a game 7 and the Houston Astros are again one win away from advancing to the World Series. Tonight’s game lacks starter star power — Brad Peacock goes for Houston against Chad Green of the Yankees — so it will most likely come down to the two best bullpens baseball.

The broadcast is on FS1. First pitch for Game 6 is set for 8:08 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 19. The winner will take on the Washington Nationals in the World Series, starting Tuesday night. HOUSTON — With Aaron Boone watching from the opposing dugout, Jose Altuve joined him in an exclusive club: Players who sent their team to the World Series with an epic home run.

Boone did it for the Yankees in 2003 by hitting a home run off Tim Wakefield of the Boston Red Sox, and Altuve did it by hitting two-run home run off Aroldis Chapman with two outs in the ninth.

The Houston Astros are going to the World Series for the second time in three years, and once again it is at the expense of the Yankees. Altiuve’s homer gave the Astros a 6-4 win in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series at Minute Maid Park. They will play the Washington Nationals in the Fall Classic, starting here with Game 1 on Tuesday.

Altuve’s heroics were made necessary because D.J. LeMahieu hit a two-run homer off Roberto Osuna with one out in the top of the ninth to even the score. It was a tense game throughout as both teams used a string of relief pitchers from beginning to end. The Astros scored first on Yuli Gurriel’s three-run home run off Chad Green in the first inning.

But the Yankees did not quit. They drew to within a run, at 3-2, but the Astros manufactured an insurance run in the sixth and then made three defensive gems – two of them double plays – to thwart the Yankees attempt at a comeback.

It is the third time the Astros have knocked the Yankees out of the postseason in the last five years. They also beat the Yankees in the 2015 wild card game and beat them in Game 7 of the 2017 A.L.C.S. on their way to their only World Series championship, which they won by beating the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games.

This year, the Astros won 107 games, including 60 at home – both were the highest totals in baseball — and then beat the Tampa Bay Rays in five games in their division series.
